Free weights gym

Most experienced bodybuilders and weightlifters throughout the world favour free weights over weight machines (Multi Gyms or Cable Machines). Whilst weight machines are still an important part of any strength training routine they do not offer the same benefits as free weights. Here at Feel Fit Gym we have a dedicated free weight area complete with a range of dumbbells, barbells and kettle bells which cater for a wide range of users. There is also a Power Cage with an Olympic training platform to add variety to your strength training workout.

Advantages of Free Weights:

  1. Using free weights such as dumbbells, barbells or Kettle bells activates the stabilising muscles that enable you to perform the exercise movement. This offers a more effective workout producing greater muscular strength and power.
     
  2. Free weight exercises match the natural movements of your muscles and joints more closely.
     
  3. Free weights help improve your overall balance and coordination by engaging your core muscles as well as the individual muscles targeted by the specific exercise.
     
  4. You can perform a wider variety of exercises with free weights, e.g. with a simple set of adjustable or fixed dumbbells or an Olympic or standard barbell set you can perform hundreds of exercises. Whereas using a strength machine you are limited to the amount of exercises that can be performed.
