Class Introduction
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a ground based martial art focused on leverage, technique, and strategy, perfect for anyone looking to improve fitness, confidence, and self-defence. It teaches you how to control and submit opponents through skill rather than strength, making it suitable for all body types and experience levels. Our classes combine world class instruction with a welcoming community where everyone supports each other’s growth. You will develop awareness, flexibility, and problem solving ability as you learn to transition between positions, apply submissions, and defend effectively. Whether your goal is fitness, competition, or personal development, BJJ offers a rewarding journey that strengthens both body and mind.
Our fundamentals classes cover core BJJ principles: positions, escapes, sweeps, and submissions. Beginners and experienced practitioners alike refine techniques through detailed, step by step instruction. Emphasis is placed on using leverage, timing, and control to overcome larger or stronger opponents. You will learn the art of efficiency, how to stay calm, conserve energy, and think several moves ahead.
BJJ naturally builds full body strength, endurance, and flexibility. Our sessions incorporate mobility drills, grip training, and bodyweight exercises to enhance core stability and joint health. Rolling (sparring) develops real functional fitness, helping you move dynamically and react instinctively. It is a fun, challenging workout that leaves you stronger, leaner, and more resilient.
Live sparring, or “rolling,” allows you to test techniques in real time. Under close supervision, you will develop timing, adaptability, and tactical awareness. Each session builds your ability to read opponents, set traps, and execute smart transitions. Strategy becomes as important as strength, teaching calm focus and problem-solving under pressure.
